    SUSTAINABILITY SHOWCASE from 10 – 2 pm (OPHS Great Lawn)

    LIVE ANIMALS: 

    • Captain Carl’s Living Tide Pool
    • Education Through Nature: Live reptiles, arachnids, insects and a hedgehog!
    • Nature of Wild Works: Non-releasable wild animals native to California
    • Wings of Discovery: Non-releasable wild birds

    BUILDING ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS:

    • Mini-Solar Cars: Build your own and take it home! For all ages!
    • CReATE Studio: Recycled Materials Craft Project
    • The Discovery Center: Build Your Own Scribble Machine
    • Oak Park Community Gardeners: Sunflower Seed Pots 
    • OPUSD Garden Specialist Debra Leith: Garden Cuttings Workshop

    • Poison Free Malibu: Rodenticide Education
    • Southern CA Edison: Improving energy efficiency in homes
    • Triunfo Sanitation: Water-wise strategies and giveaways
    • Enhanced Landscape Management: Drought-tolerant landscaping
    • Sustainable Art Showcase: Art created by MCMS Students 
    • VEX Robotics Competition: MCMS Gym. 
    Recycling
    RECYCLING DRIVE from 9 am – 2 pm (OPHS parking lot)

     Did you know all items below should not go to a landfill?

    • Electronics (anything with a plug) and batteries
    • Clothing / Shoes / Rugs (and other textiles)
    • Expired / Unwanted Medications and Liquids
    • Prescription Eyeglasses and/or Cases 
    • On-Site Paper Shredding (first 3 boxes per car free, $5/box thereafter)
    • CDs, DVDs, VHS Tapes, and their cases
    • Ink/toner cartridges, small electronics like cameras, cell phones, etc.
    • Bicycles
