California Content Standards
The state of California requires all Math 7 classes to teach specific concepts, which are called standards. These standards are taught in our classroom using a variety of methods. If you are unfamiliar with the Standards,

Course Syllabus
All policies are described within the contract. Parents and students are asked to read carefully and sign it the first week of school, or on the first day they begin class upon entering Medea Creek Middle School.
School Supplies:
During the first week of school, teachers will provide students with a list of supplies that will be helpful to have in their classroom. We received feedback in the past that by posting grade level lists, families were purchasing many unnecessary supplies. Please communicate with your teachers if there are supplies that you need and are unable to purchase. We are here to support all students.
8th Grade Math Placements
There are two courses where students can earn placement.
- Algebra Introductions (8th Grade Level) - Most students qualify for this course, which covers 8th grade standards that include many of the traditional Algebra 1 topics.
- Algebra 1 (9th Grade Level) - Students earn placement in Algebra 1 by fulfilling the requirements that help identify students that are prepared for an advanced, fast-paced, and rigorous course.
