The Oak Park Community is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary in honor of all the families and businesses who have helped build this community into the Top Rated School District and Family Friendly Environment we all have come to love. To mark this auspicious event, the OPUSD Community Outreach Committee is producing our own Oak Park-Opoly Game Board. Pre-sale Price is $40 and will go up at the end of the month.

Congratulations are in order to Brookside, Oak Hills, and Red Oak Elementary Schools for being selected for the California Gold Ribbon Schools Award this month. Schools applied for the award based on a model program their school has adopted that includes standards-based activities, projects, strategies, and practices that can be replicated by other local educational agencies. The award recognized Medea Creek Middle and Oak Park High Schools in 2015.

Newsweek magazine announced their list of America's Top High Schools for 2015 and we are pleased to report that Oak Park High School placed extraordinarily well and continues to move up in the rankings. The school ranked 120th in the United States and 18th in California out of 4500 high schools - well within the top 1%. This is particularly impressive because OPHS is a 'regular' public high school, where many of the schools on their list are magnet or charter schools that only accept gifted students or are selective. Congratulations are in order to the staff, students, and parents at OPHS and to our entire team - Preschool-12. In Oak Park everyone is working together to build a future for our children.
Welcome to Oak Park! I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our amazing schools. I am often asked, Why are the Oak Park Schools so special? I think the answer is quite simple, the dedicated teachers, support staff, caring counselors and administrators, the Board of Education who sets the positive direction for the District and sustains the vision, the parents and community that support the schools, the students who bring their diverse interests and needs, all working together with a sense of common purpose. In Oak Park, our students are not data points, they are each unique individuals, and valued by all. We appreciate that parents place their children in our trust knowing they will all have meaningful learning experiences each day that will lead to their development as capable, responsible, and caring adults.
