Oak Park schools are experiencing a leveling of enrollment due to the fact that the area is "built out." This has created a unique opportunity for a limited number of students to attend our schools who do not live in Oak Park. We have been designated a "District of Choice," which allows us to accept a limited number of students from out of the attendance area. Additionally, under new legislation, we are able to accept DOC students (students that apply during Open Enrollment from 11/1 - 12/31) and automatically renew their permits annually until graduation from high school.

OAK PARK SCHOOLS ARE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR EXCELLENCE!!!

FAMILIES THAT APPLIED FOR THE LOTTERY FOR FALL 2014

The meeting to assign lottery numbers to District of Choice applicants took place on 1/21/14.  The lottery numbers are posted below.  There are 2 lists:

The first one is for SIBLINGS of students already enrolled in OPUSD schools (siblings have priority). The second one is for families/students applying that do NOT have siblings already enrolled in OPUSD schools.

Lottery Numbers for Applicants with Siblings already in OPUSD

One number is assigned to each family whether you applied for one student or more.  The list is alphabetical by last name plus up to 4 digits of your street address to differentiate between duplicate last names. If you applied and do not see your family name listed, please email Linda Gam  immediately.

District of Choice Open Enrollment is now closed for fall 2014.  The deadline to apply was 12/31/13.  If you are still interested in applying for fall 2014, you will need to go to your resident school district to get a permit/release.  Once I receive the permit, I can place your student on our waiting list which will remain in effect until the first week of school in  September.  If a permit is received in this manner, your student will NOT be a part of the lottery that will take place on January 21, 2014.  Any questions, please email Linda Gam at our district office.

In order to be clear on our procedures, please read ALL information (very carefully) on this webpage including:
- FAQ’s
- Lottery Procedures
- Families of approved students will be notified by email of the next step in the process (including enrollment information) by the end of the first full week in February, 2014.
- Families of wait listed students will be notified by email of the status of their application no later than MAY 15, 2014.

Please add Linda Gam's email to your contact list Lgam@oakparkusd.org and check your email (spam too) and our website periodically. All correspondence will be by email only.

ATTENTION CURRENTLY ENROLLED FAMILIES:
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO DO AN AUTOMATIC RENEWAL FORM EACH YEAR. Your students will be automatically renewed to attend Oak Park Schools through senior year. The only exception to this rule is if you are an Oak Park resident and you move to another district's attendance boundaries. If this is the case, an interdistrict permit is required.  You can get the permit from your new district of residence. A spot will be given only if there is space available in the grade level you are requesting.

For assistance with an inter-district transfer, Please contact Linda Gam  at our District Office.
