Drop off and Pick up Procedures
-
Please remember, our paramount goal is the safety of all members of the Oak Hills Community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep traffic moving while expediting morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
DROP-OFF PROCEDURES
- There is no left turn from Churchwood Dr. into the Oak Hills parking lot. The campus can now only be accessed by turning from Kanan Rd. onto Los Arcos Dr.
- Parents may park and walk their children to the playground gates or may drive through the parking lot at the front of the campus and drop their children off at the flagpole. (At the beginning of the school year, all K and DK students will be dropped off at the gate.)
- When driving through the lot, students may not exit the vehicle until they reach the white sidewalk with the concrete pylons. Staff will be present to assist students. Parents and caregivers may not exit their vehicles since this slows down the procedure significantly.
- Please pull up all the way to the top of the parking loop before letting your child out.
- Students may NEVER enter or exit the car in the inner, "passing" lane.
- Older children (4th-5th) may be dropped off in the white loading zone at the top of the stairs that lead from Churchwood directly to the playground. This is NOT a pick-up area, and students may not wait on the sidewalk to be picked up.
PICK-UP PROCEDURES
- There is no left turn from Churchwood Dr. into the Oak Hills parking lot. The campus can now only be accessed by turning from Kanan Rd. onto Los Arcos Dr.
- Parents may park and meet their children at the playground gates adjacent to Los Arcos Park or may drive through the parking loop at the front of the campus and pick up their children at the flagpole. (At the beginning of the school year, all K and DK students will be picked up at the gate.)
- Make sure your child knows how and where you are going to pick them up each day. Gate or Flagpole.
- When driving through the lot, students may not enter your vehicle until it reaches the white sidewalk with the concrete pylons. Staff will be present to assist students. Parents and caregivers may not exit their vehicles since this slows down the procedure significantly.
- Please pull up all the way to the top of the parking loop before letting your child out.
- Vehicles picking up 4th or 5th graders may not line up until 2:45. Younger students are still being picked up before that time. Vehicles entering the lot to pick up 4th or 5th graders before 2:45 will be required to exit and drive around the block so that vehicles picking up younger students will be able to do so.
- Parents who are picking up their children later in the day from Club Oak Park will follow the instructions provided by the Club staff. Students participating in Growing Outdoors enrichment classes will be picked up at the flagpole.
