    CURRICULUM
     

    Instruction is designed so that all students meet or exceed the California State Content Standards.  We provide a well-balanced curriculum at all grade levels. Each student is encouraged to become an independent learner and thinker.  Our instructors differentiate the teaching strategies and instructional materials for each student to ensure success. Traditional texts and materials are supplemented with “independent study friendly” resources to ensure success in learning at home.  Computer-assisted instruction and on line course work are integrated within our program.

     
    Parents and students are encouraged to discuss with the teacher areas of particular interest for in depth learning.  Our teachers individualize instruction, allowing the time needed to pursue a particular topic.
     
    We offer courses in the core areas of mathematics, language arts, social science and science.  In addition, classes are available for computer literacy, life skills, health education, visual and performing arts and practical skills.
     
    College preparation is an integral part of the school program.  Students have the opportunity to enroll in classes at junior college, establishing a college record and earning credit towards their high school diploma at the same time. 

      

    Independent School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and our program and courses meet the UC requirements for college and universities.  Our graduates are prepared for successful enrollment in prestigious institutions across the United States.
