    I love teaching this class. I am a French native and I have been sharing my first language and culture for 13 years now in Oak park. I cannot wait to meet you continue in my classroom  ( H4) as soon as possible. I have been working on fun activites and ways to teach you and share my program all summer. strawberry

    You already might know but UC schools require at least 2 years of a foreign language to apply but three or four years show dedication in your college application. Our French AP class is a College class and passing the AP French test offers credits in most universities. 


    French I is the first level and French II, III, French III Honors, IV, and IV AP can be taken the following years. If you are gearing to take AP as a senior you need to have 3 previous years of French so plan carefully your electives.

     I am a native from France and I have lived in the United States since 1986. I obtained a Master degree at the University of Arizona and started teaching in Boston. I moved to California in 2001 and since then I have been sharing my culture and language.

    Why French?


    A language for the job market

    More than 200 million people speak French on the five continents. An ability to speak  French and English is an advantage on the international job market. A knowledge  of French opens the doors of French companies in France and other French-speaking parts of the world like Canada, Switzerland,Belgium…


    The language of culture
    French is the international language of cooking, fashion,thêatre, the visual arts, dance and architecture. A knowledge of French offers  access to great works of literature, as well as films and songs, in the  original French. French is the language of Victor Hugo, Molière, Léopold SendarSenghor, Edith Piaf, Jean-Paul Sartre, Alain Delon and Zinedine Zidane.

    France is the world’s number-one tourist destination and attracts more than 70 million visitors
    a year. A little French makes it so much more enjoyable to visit Paris and all the regions of France (from the mild climat of the Côte dAzur to the snow-capped peaks of the Alps via the rugged coastline of Brittany) and offers insights into French culture, mentality and way of life. French also comes in handy when traveling to Africa, Switzerland, Canada, Monaco, the Seychelles and other places.

    Speaking French opens up study opportunities at renowned universities and business schools, as well as UC SCHOOLS.

    French is both a working language and an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, UNESCO, NATO, the International Olympic Committee, the International Red Cross and international courts. French is the language of the three cities where the EU institutions are headquartered:Strasbourg, Brussels and Luxembourg.
