(Year course – Core/Elective)

The course focuses on the following aspects of historical study: intellectual-cultural, political-diplomatic, and social-economic

history. Students are expected to demonstrate knowledge of basic chronology and of major events and trends

from High Renaissance to the recent past. The course requires analytical thinking, extensive reading and a significant

amount of writing. Tenth grade students may use this class to meet their World History requirement. All students are

expected to sit for the Advanced Placement exam during the month of May.

Syllabus

The following schedule gives the dates readings are due.  Expect a reading quiz for each due date.  Complete five (5) of the Weber reading templates for EACH Weber reading selection  (you choose which selections).  An additional two (2) templates may be completed for 5 extra credit points each.  You will be expected to hand in a notebook at every 5 week grading period with your  your European Journal templates (5 episodes at each grading period).
