Dear Teachers, Parents and Students,

Welcome back to a new school year and another year for our Box Tops program! For those of you that are new to our school or are unfamiliar with this program, let me briefly explain it to you.

Box Tops for Education is a fundraising program for schools, run by General Mills, Inc. There are 3 program components:

  • The first is the "clip" program, which allows you to clip box tops from hundreds of participating General Mills products, such as Cheerios, Total, and Kix cereals, Betty Crocker products, Yoplait yogurt and Kleenex, just to name a few.
  • The second component is the "shop" program, which allows us to earn cash for Oak Hills when we shop on-line. Go to  www.boxtops4education.com and check out their website.
  • The third component is the "reading room" program, where you can earn cash for our school just by buying books!

This year, we will have two contests at Oak Hills to see which classrooms collect the most box tops. There will be an ice pop party in December for the 2 classes with the most box tops by that time, and at the end of the school year, in June, we will have a pizza party for the 2 classes that have brought in the most box tops by June! So start looking through your cabinets at home and start clipping! Each box top is worth 10 cents for our school.

Box Tops look like the following on your favorite products:        Box Tops

Please cut out the box tops as neatly as possible, and send them in to your child's classroom in an envelope, with the teacher's name on it. The teachers will hold on to them and I will periodically collect them throughout the year.

Please check out the box tops website  for all the information you need.

Thank you for helping to earn more cash for our school through Box Tops for Education!

Sincerely,

Beth Meyer
