JOG-A-THON - PLEDGE DRIVE

Get Ready Folks!

Our annual Jog-a-Thon

Friday, February 22, 2013!!!

PLEDGE DRIVE 2013

We are asking Red Oak Families and extended families to rally around this year's Jog-a-Thon!  This is a great fundraiser but we cannot do it without you.

We have made it easy for you to reach out to your family, friends and co-workers to donate and help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 this year!

DONATIONS IN YOUR CHILD'S NAME!

Here is an easy way you can help. Please encourage your Friends, Co-workers, and Family members to donate  by credit or debit card in your child's name(s) by visiting -

http://www.oakparkusd.org/redoakjogathon

THE DONATION IS 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

Every little bit helps and no donation is too small. So please help your school and the students to continue funding our great programs at Red Oak.

100% OF YOUR DONATION GOES TO RED OAK!

Your donation today will help to support our programs such as Music, Librarian, Classroom Aides, P.E. and more!

This is a fun event for the kids and they ALL get a t-shirt!

Please view our generous sponsors for this event here

For those of you new to Red Oak, the Jog-a-Thon is held in the morning on school grounds. The students run/jog around the field and are sponsored by family, friends and co-workers on a per lap basis or a simple set amount.

Each student will participate, parents will volunteer, and teachers & staff will walk as well. This is a great fundraiser but we cannot do it without you.

We need an army of parent volunteers to help out the day of the event. If you would like to help out, please complete this  Volunteer Form.

Congratulations to Anuhya Yalavarty in Mrs. Sullivan's class for winning this year's Jog-a-thon T-shirt design!

 A Continuing Discussion

About School Safety

I wanted to let you know that there have been several meaningful discussions about school safety that have taken place recently.  Principals and I met with Ron Stephens, the executive director of the National School Safety Center and have had two subsequent discussions on the issue. The Board also held a discussion in public at the January Board meeting.  As I write this, we are planning to make this one of the topics for the Community Forum that will be held on Monday, January 28 sponsored by Friends of Oak Park Schools.  There are continuing discussions at school staff, PTO, and School Site Council meetings.  Click here to read the entire message.
