CHARACTER COUNTS
MAY
INTEGRITY
Character Counts is a program that we began to implement in January of 2012 school wide. It has existed at Medea for quite a few years and was previously implemented in the seventh grade Humanities classes. The intent of this program is to be a proactive means to emphasize positive values that can define moral behavior that students can not only apply within the classroom and on the Medea campus, but affect their decisions in other aspects of their lives as well. Each month there is a focus on all facets of a specific character trait with the expectation that students will be able to apply this information in different situations.
“If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
J.K. Rowling
“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters”
Albert Einstein
The month of MAY focused on the Character Trait of INTEGRITY. The definition of INTEGRITY is below:
v adherence to moral and ethical principles
v soundness of moral character; honesty
v the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness
